A Title At Last!

A big thanks to Anissa, who gave me the secret handshake for posting a title in blogger these days. You gotta love technology!

Here's the first day of conference run-down: Cindy and I headed out for breakfast early and took our time, then picked up a few last-minute items (deodarant is always a good thing), gased up the car, and headed to the hotel. They had a room available even though it wasn't yet noon and we were able to check in and get all the stuff up to the room. And let me tell you - stuff increases a lot when you have books to push. I carried a lot less stuff before I sold. Guess I'll be shipping stuff to conference next year.

We grabbed a quick lunch and headed to the airport to pick up my good bud, Colleen Gleason. I know it will shock you when I say her plane was late - and even more shocking is that the airline didn't know and still showed it as on time. Big surprise. Once we gathered Colleen (who manages to do an entire conference with a carryon - what the hell), we went back to the hotel and headed to the bar - the place for all business transactions at conference.

We did the registration thing, ran into my fabulous agent, Kristin Nelson, at checkin, and went to stake our place with some drinks. I ran into a lot of people I'd met at conferences before and chatted AND I had already run into Barbara Vey, my friend from the RT Convention who blogs for Publisher's Weekly. I'm so excited they decided to send her!

We had drinks, then dinner, then coffee, then went out for a relaxing dip in the hottub until security made us leave. Three women in a hot tub with bottled water are such a security risk, you know. So we went back to the room, checked up on email and finally crawled into bed.

Today is the Nelson Agency Spa Day (I can't wait) and this evening I meet with my fab web mistress, Dawn, then we have the booksigning. I can't wait!

More tomorrow and if you have any questions about conference and how it works, please feel free to ask them.

Wait a second. You get a spa day? With your agent? You're living the life, my friend.

I couldn't agree more, Jaye. Very, very cool...

I love the conference recaps, Jana! Just keep doing what you're doing. :)

I'd like to hear about all the people you meet. Just on the off chance it's somebody I know. *g*

Hi Jaye - I saw you yesterday. :) And yes, the spa was wonderful. I could definitely get used to that!

anissa - I will keep it coming the rest of the week.

tori - I will try, but I tend to remember people as "that girl with the pretty shirt, or nice hair, or the one who was REALLY drunk." But then, I guess all of those are people you would recognize. :)

tammy - We all miss you and Holli and wish you were here! You HAVE to come to SanFran!
