Where are you Martha?

I have one of those Martha Stewart sort of questions - or Ms. Manners - or whoever makes the "rules" about appropriateness.

God only knows why I even think of these things, much less go to the trouble of repeating my thoughts and asking others opinions, but here goes:

I did a literacy event on Sunday. It was at a local hotel - not five-star but more upscale than a regular Hampton Inn. So I went to the ladies room and as I was using the restroom, I noticed that the toilet paper at the end of the roll had been folded to look like fans. So then I got to wondering, is it considered bad manners if I don't fold the toilet paper back? And good Lord, how long was that going to take?

So, opinions? Anyone just think I'm crazy for asking...........you don't have to lie. :)

That's the job of the washroom attendant. I wouldn't worry about it, since you're the customer.

Hi chumplet - so you mean some poor woman has to spend all day traipsing in and out of the ladies room folding toilet paper????? God, what a waste of a salary.

Jana when I was staying at the Hyatt in NYC this summer I discovered the same thing. All I could think of was that someone had too much time on their hands or else was really constipated LOL.

LOL Wendy - I've gotten used to seeing it in my personal room at hotels, but was a little surprised to see it in the common area restroom. Oh well, our retail dollars at work. :)

I stayed at someone's home once that did this. For the record, I didn't feel the need to refold before I left.

jaye - at their house????? Good Lord, people have entirely too much time on their hands.

I'm glad you didn't feel compelled to refold.

I've been to some fairly toney hotels for conferences and I can't recall ever seeing anything like that. Weird. *g*

tori - I was a little taken aback myself, having been to some pretty fancy places for conferences and such. But hey, whatever floats their boat.
