It's Friday!!!!! Even better, I'm taking a day off work - well, the training job anyway. I've already critiqued a proposal this morning for a cp and have a synopsis to read for another cp and my own proposal to do plus one more pass on UNLUCKY. No rest for the weary. But hey, at least I will review the cp synopsis while getting a pedicure with the cp!!!! Can't discount the value of a great pedicure. Me and the cp's are attending a writing workshop tomorrow so today/tonight is writer's girl's night - fun, fun, fun!!!! I get to spend all day today and tomorrow talking about writing. Whoohoo!!!!!

I TAKE THIS MAN does sound like a good read. I'll get a copy. I also am very interested in the writing seminar you are attending this weekend. Please share information: who taught, who attended, what subject matter, where was it, what did you learn, was it worth it? Anything along those lines you are willing to share. I have avoided writer's groups because I have not finished my book and think I'd be the only one there who does not have anything published, (or even finished.) I checked out the web sites for several RWA groups in my area, and they have scads of published authors. I feel very small, and frankly embarrassed, because I expected to sit down at the computer and whip this book out in about a month, at a 10 page a day clip. Pretty stupid, huh? I never thought I'd get lost in the forest (of words) like Hansel and Gretel and feel like a complete idiot. I really want to go (to meetings and conferences) but I think I need to have something to take along (like a manuscript). Also, if we are to chose our own cp, how do we know we are choosing someone qualified--what is the criteria other than mutual admiration? Thanks, Jana, Helen

I TAKE THIS MAN by Valerie Frankel sounds like a good read. I went to Hastings in Greenville today to buy a copy, and was told the street release date was 4/30/07 and that they had not ordered any copies. She suggested I contact my Avon representative. I asked, "What Avon representative?". She said, "The one you buy cosmetics from. That's the only "Avon" I know of." Helen
