Vacation

I've been doing a lot of decorating at the new house - painting the walls lovely shades of turquoise and placing my seashell decor everywhere. It looks very serene and pretty and I'm loving it. And the reason I love it so much is because I am a beach junkie. There is simply nothing I find more relaxing than sitting on a beach with a beer and a book. In fact, I can stay there all day.

My family used to vacation to Destin a lot - which has beautiful beaches. I've always wanted to go to Hawaii and maybe now someday I will.

What about you? What's your favorite vacation spot?

I've always wanted to summer in the Colorado mountains. On a lake. But with a good Internet connection. *g*

Anyplace that is not my hometown. I like places where I can sightsee. I'm not a beach person.

tori - i've been to colorado in the summer and it's beautiful. Also been to CO during a "white out" - not so much fun. :)

dru - so do you like city sightseeing - like NY or wilderness sightseeing - like Montana?

Our family has several favorites - Yosemite (but that requires a plane ride), Colorado (visiting family, sad also a plane ride), and the Cape (Cape Cod of course).

ann - never been to Yosemite or Cape Cod but I've heard both are beautiful. I'd love to do a New England light house tour!

Maui! My family makes pilgrimages there every few years to relax during the holiday season. I cannot think of a better way to do Thanksgiving, then with a swim/snorkel in gorgeous blue water in the morning and some seared ahi and fresh veggies for dinner, instead of slaving away over a turkey all day.

rm - I am so jealous! I would love to go to Maui - it is totally on my list of places to go before I die.

I love anywhere in the south! Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, etc. I have taken several trips to the south and had a blast everytime I went! The food is fantastic! The weather is just gorgeous! I live in the North and get cold winters here in Indiana. I sure wish I could get my hubby to want to retire somewhere where it's warm.
