Absent for a While

I'm so sorry that I haven't been blogging on a regular basis. I am in the midst of a personal crisis and need to take some time off. I truly appreciate all the emails I have received from regular readers expressing their concern. I am still here but not feeling like posting at the moment.

I will be back in a couple of weeks or so. Thanks again for all the emails!

Life comes before blog--always. Take care of yourself.

Jana, you can keep this to yourself if you want to, but please realise that we love you and are here to accept you, encourage you, support you, and pray for you regardless of what you are going through, and you need not bear your burdens alone. We are not going to shun you, abandon you, or judge you because whatever you are experiencing, it's not going to be that much of a surprise, and we may have gone through it also. Nobody gets through life without problems for two reasons: God wants us to depend on him, and not be independent of him, so things happen to draw us closer to him, and because we are to live by faith, and faith must be tested. If you have been hurt in a relationship or betrayed by a close friend or family member, so have I. If your man has cheated on you, or wants out of the relationship--been there, done that, at least twice, and maybe three times. It hurt but I survived. If your medical doctor has told you you have some horrible disease or condition and could "fall down dead any minute", you must bee seeing the same doctor I see, because I heard those exact words last August, and I'm still here. If you've been fired or demoted from a job and are having financial problems--that has happened to me more than once. I'm not asking and I'm not prying, but we are here for you to encourage you and help you. Bad things happen to us, too. Anybody who gloats over another's misfortune sets himself/herself up to have the same calamity befall him/her, so we are not that mean or stupid. You are loved, just the way you are. You have friends. We're here whenever you need us. Love and prayers, Helen Dagley, your first cousin, once removed.

Thanks, Helen - the prayers are always appreciated and I know He is listening.

THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE by Rick Warren is a book everyone should have. It is intended to be read a chapter a day for 40 days. It will change your life for the better, and explain a lot of things.
